GEMS stands for Graduate Epidemiologists at Michigan State.
This blog is a representative voice for the doctoral and masters students that make up GEMS and does not represent Michigan State University, the College of Human Medicine or the Department of Epidemiology themselves.
There are 4 main goals that we hope to achieve by maintaining this blog. The first goal of this blog is to keep current students and alumni informed about what is going on in the department of epidemiology on administrative, academic, and personal levels. Secondly, it also serves to inform students of opportunities available in the department and externally. We also aim to log special events, achievements, and memories relating to GEMS members. Ultimately, we want aid the department in recruitment of new students by giving prospective students a glimpse into the department from a student’s point of view.
This blog is meant to be interactive and we encourage students to post comments in response to our stories and share information that they think deserves to be posted on the blog.
Happy Reading !!!!
